2008 F-450 Ambulance Updayte- Posted 16 June 2008

As of today the new ambulance construction is moving along at a rapid pace. The construction of the module was completed early last week, and the module was going to the paint shop by early this week. If you would like to keep tabs and see the construction process just log onto http://www.braunnorthwest.com and click on the "In Progress" tab at the top right side of the page. New pictures will be added as the process moves forward.

VFW Awards Firefighter & EMT of the year for 2007- Posted 19 December 2007

At there annual awards and holiday dinner the Brinnon VFW Post 10706 awarded the 2007 Firefighter of the Year award to LT Sue Fresonke and the the 2007 EMT of the Year award to FGS/EMT-ILS Dawn Audette. Station 4-2 Flooding update- Posted 10 December 2007

The Duckabush Fire Station (Station 4-2) appears to have weathered the flooding rather well. During the day today a group of volunteer firefighters and the Chief scraped out all the river silt from the apparatus bays and then hosed out the bays. It appears that we may be able to move the apparatus back into the station by the Close of Business on 12 December 2007. More information to follow on the relocation of the station.

New Ambulance Construction Update- Posted 16 November 2007

The construction of the new ambulance is moving along. The 2008 F-450 4x4 chassis was ordered from Ford this week. Next month the Chief and the Chairman of the Board will visit the manufacturer to attend the pre-construction conference and to sign off on the final drawings prior to the actual construction. They will also being touring the plant were the ambulance will be manufactured.

Fire Apparatus placed in service - Posted 16 November 2007

The first of 2 new fire apparatus was placed in service this month. The Class A pumper will be assigned to Station 43 after both units are operational. The 2 apparatus being replaced were purchased by the HOH Tribe as the first fire trucks for there new fire department. The Brinnon Fire Department will be delivering them later this month.

Fire Prevention Open House - Posted 15 October 2007

 
On Saturday, October 13th, the Brinnon Volunteer Firefighters Association hosted an open house at Fire Headquarters  as part of Fire Prevention Week. We would like to thank all of you that stopped by and sat for a spell. We had visitors from as far away as California an enjoyable day was had by all. We look forward to next year.

Fire Prevention School Visit - Posted 12 October 2007

At the Fire Prevention Assembly, held at the Brinnon School, today the student body had the opportunity to spend some time with the Fire Chief and got to watch a firefighter put on all his equipment and ask lots of questions about firefighting and rescue work. Following the assembly the Kindergarten, first and second grade classes went outside and got to see just what equipment is on the big red truck.

District Purchases 2 Fire Engines - Posted 09 October 2007

The Board of Fire Commissioners approved the purchase of 2 additional Fire Engines. The 2 engines will be purchase from South Kitsap Fire & rescue, they are both formally NYFD Mack class A pumpers. The apparatus look similar to E41, see our apparatus photos, and will help to complete our long range goal of standardizing all our apparatus.

District Purchases New Aid Car - Posted 27 September 2007

    At a special Fire Commissioners meeting on the 25th of September at Fire Headquarters, the Board of Fire Commissioners approved the purchase of a 2008 Ford F-450 4x4 Type I Ambulance. The Ambulance will be built by Braun Northwest in Chehalis, Washington. It will take approximately 320 days to manufacture and we expect delivery in the summer of 2008. We will post photos and status reports periodically. This unit will replace our oldest ambulance, a 1990 Ford E-350.
