Press Releases

From Port Townsend Leader, December 31st, 2014.

Jefferson County Fire District 4 (Brinnon/Duckabush) again has been honored with a first-place Management Excellence Award issued by the Washington Fire Commissioners Association.

Brinnon won in Category D, fire districts with budgets of less than $500,000. The award covers the time period of Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2012. Peggy Ware, district secretary, received the award during the annual conference, which took place Oct. 24-26 in Pasco.

The association’s Management Excellence program is an effort to share information and innovative ideas, to recognize those in the fire service demonstrating progressive achievement and to benefit all districts, regardless of size.

The Brinnon Fire Department currently has 15 active volunteer firefighters, three career firefighters, a part-time fire chief and a district secretary/administrative assistant.
